COULD SOCIAL DISTANCING COST OUR COMPASSION?
In a world already leaning toward social distancing, could this new mandate cost us our heart for others?
It's a real risk if we don't actively balance our compassion levels. These levels are constantly fluctuating, based on how safe we feel personally and how much we think we safely can give to others. ~ But, at a time like this, even the most giving person can feel their grip tighten and their compassion fading. ~ Will you FIGHT the FADE? ~ Choose to grow your compassion rather than letting it shrivel away. ~ COMPASSION WE CAN ALL AFFORD TO GIVE (without leaving home) ` 1) Make a list of people who need comfort (friends, the elderly, widows, neighbors). ` 2) Write two names per day in your calendar ` 3) Facetime or Video-call two people, every day, to let them know you care ` 4) Before you hang-up, pray together ` Even if you think you have nothing left to give, something beautiful happens when two people pray for one another, aloud. ~ No matter how 'beginner' you think your prayers are, going into that prayer space allows the Holy Spirit to flow comfort and peace to the soothe your anxiety and fear. ~ Just what the doctor ordered!
