COULD WHAT YOU ARE MOST PROUD OF: BE BLOCKING YOUR SURRENDER?
What are you most proud of? An achievement, a skill, a virtue? ~ That very thing - often the result of something God has given - could be the culprit blocking you from deeper surrender and intimacy with God. ~ It starts off well, you have a talent: given for good reason. You use it, and then, over time, you begin to rely on IT, rather than God. ~ That good gift becomes an impediment to the beauty of a life lived in intimacy with your creator. ~ Pride forms a thin but tough layer between us and our dependency on God. ~ We still need him, but we've forgotten that we do. ~ The result is painful: we stop surrendering to Jesus, and lean only on our own skills. Over time we get tired, think we can't cut it, that we are alone, and lose faith. ~ Nothing changed in God's goodness, only in our focus. ~ Will you release your 'best' to God today and tell him you need him? ~ No skill compares to the bliss of letting God lead your life in ways you could never even dream up. ~ James 4:10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up. ~
