FAN THE FLAME

Do you ever feel that God has forgotten you? ~ Perhaps He put a fire in your heart a while ago, that is slowly starting to go out: so you wonder if He is still there? ~ He is. He has never left. ~ He sparked that flame, as ONLY He can, but now YOU need to fan the flame, to make it grow. ~ Just like a fire needs oxygen, our faith needs movement to stay strong and not be subtly extinguished by life's concerns. ~ The fire He lit in your heart, was never designed for just you to enjoy: sitting back and watching the flames, without feeding it to make it bigger. ~ It was designed to melt your defenses and create a new passion for goodness in you. One that you would grow and feed with your praise and dedication, so that others around you would see your fire-glow and catch alight themselves. ~ Simple step: know you have a part to play in keeping your faith alive and growing. Rather than allowing the decay of life to extinguish your flame, see the beautiful ember still there and gently fan it with: ° • Your FOCUS: Seek Him morning, noon, and night for wisdom and comfort ° • Your WORSHIP: Tell Him how grateful you are who He is, what He has done, and what He will do ° • Your MEMORY: Recalling the moment the flame started, fans it again, like the disciples in Luke 24:32: "And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?" ° • Your TIME: Reading at least one scripture each day and asking God to reveal it's deeper meaning to you ~ Fan the flame, and enjoy the warmth. ~
