FEAR STEALING YOUR JOY?
Even though the Bible encourages us 365 times to have 'no fear', it is still the emotion that tends to grip and crumble us. ~ When left unrealized and unattended, fear can subtly destroy our relationships, our faith, and even our health (physical and emotional). ~ Pretty powerful stuff!! But could fear have it's sting removed? ~ With God in your life, that answer is always YES! ~ Let's break it down: when you're a believer, fear has a NEW definition (presented by Theologian, Charles Spurgeon) ~ Fear = Acting as if you have no one to save you. ~ This is why we sing, "Fear is a liar", because that definition is simply NOT true if you're a child of God. ~ Since that day you said, "Guide my life, Jesus, take me and heal me," He literally moved into your heart, and therefore it's impossible for you to be alone. ~ But it IS possible to forget this gift of never-aloneness! ~ Author, Sarah Young, puts it this way, "We inhabit a fallen, disjointed world, where things are constantly unraveling around the edges. ONLY a vibrant relationship with Jesus can keep you from coming unraveled too." ~ So, next time you feel fear... ~ • TALK TO THE FEAR: remind it that you are NOT alone, you have your God with you who has defeated fear, and even death itself! ~ • TALK TO YOURSELF: preach to your own heart, what is the value of that grace you say you have received? Where is the dignity of that new nature you claim to possess? He IS sufficient for you, you need not be gripped by fear. ~ • CHOOSE TO NOT GIVE IN: each time you feel the fear rise up, just answer it with the name 'Jesus'. Let the sound of His name, whispered in your own voice, fill you with courage. ~ YOU are NOT alone. ~ Rely in sure confidence on the faithfulness of your covenant God, who equips you with everything you need. ~ "The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." Deuteronomy 31:8. ~
