MESSED UP ALREADY?
Just a week into New Year goals, most, if we are honest, have already messed up.
Good intentions dissolve under well-worn habits and, for some, it becomes a disappoinment that even rattles their faith.
Yet, making mistakes is actually part of the human condition. As the apostle Paul expressed: I know what I ought to do and I don't do it. And I know what I ought not to do, yet I do it. (Emphasis added).
The moments are disappointing, sure, but it can be a strong and current reminder that we actually need God's help.
A reminder we desperately need as, sadly, human tendancy is to ignore God until we are desperate: after-all, it's often not until we need Him, that we actually want Him.
Perspective shift: next time you mess up, look at it as a timely reminder that you actually need Jesus.
When we remember He is God and we are not, we stop trying to do everything on our own strength and actually lean on the ultimate source of all power.
