WAITING FOR GOD TO SPEAK?
Have you asked God for wisdom lately? ~ Was it a feeble little prayer? Or an empassioned, on your knees, desperate plea: complete with red face and eyes that have run out of tears? ~ Sometimes we barely utter our request, for fear He won't answer, and other times we scream it, convinced He hasn't already answered! ~ But what if He is answering you in tiny little ways you're not noticing? ~ So often we ask God to give us wisdom and yet, subtly ignore His tiny nudges. ~ We may present a big problem to God, assuming He will give us a big answer the match the size of the question. ~ Yet, our human mind: prone to pride, deceit, and overwhelm, often cannot handle that big answer in one bite, so He answers us in little nibbles; ~ Remembering a name of a friend as we drive, an opportunity for a deep conversation with our kids, a loss or tragedy that calls us to set down our I've-got-this and pick up Jesus-I-need-you. ~ Are you noticing His little nudges? All hidden invitations to journey along the path to the big answer you seek? ~ Theologian, Oswald Chambers, put it this way, "Never object up the tender sensitivity of the Spirit of God in you, when He is instructing you down to the smallest detail". ~ An idea: while you wait for the big answer this week, try obeying in the tiny little things He puts on your heart. Listening and responding to the little things, shows Him you can be trusted with the bigger things. ~ Psalm 32:8 promises, "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you." ~ Show Him you're listening, and see fresh buds of faith and promise grow ~
